Too often the conversation about this issue becomes watered down – and I fear that weakens the sense of severity and urgency that some people perceive. When statistics are so dismal, we as a community and an economic sector deserve to be confronted, and hopefully challenged to take pragmatic action now, not daydream about an utopian future later, when we can (we imagine) painlessly change the world, after throwing token effort at the problem while we pursue individual success. Collectively, we either want to be more egalitarian or we do not, and that will be evidenced by how we act, together.
